Steps you can take to Stop Divorce Before it Happens

Your world has just shattered around you, and you did not even see it coming. No way did you suspect that your spouse of so many years would ask you for a divorce. You had considered that your marriage was solid and enduring, but apparently your partner felt very differently. Given that the decree has been released, should you just lay down and roll over and allow it to occur? If you are devoted to the success of your marriage, even though your spouse isn’t, there are things you should and shouldn’t do to stop divorce from occurring.

Reasoning plus pleading isn’t going to make a bit of difference in the stance your partner is taking. Instead, you need to work at things more subtly. Never put on any fake front. Act like yourself that will remind your partner why they fell deeply in love with you in the first place. You should also hear your partner to see if you can uncover clues as to what he or she is needing that they don’t feel they are having from your marriage. You cannot offer them what they want unless you know what it is, and when things get bad between two people, your own hurt feelings could get in the way of you listening to what they are actually saying.

Insisting that your spouse go to marital counseling is not the best strategy. In so doing, you’re simply going to set them off again by insinuating that they require a counselor. Keep your lines of communication open, and search for things you may change. After all, something in the marriage has to be broken if your spouse desires to take the critical move of divorce, so if you can discover and repair it, your marriage stands a better chance of enduring.

Of course, there may be someone else in the picture who has persuaded your partner that they have more to offer than you do. Keep in mind that the honeymoon period will wear off in that relationship, too. If you truly desire to stop divorce from occurring, you need to be able to ride out the storm and get some help from a marriage coach offering free marriage advice. It all depends upon how much you’re willing to do to keep your marriage from ending in divorce. Doc No.sdlkh-sdAE
